ABOUT OUR PHILANTHROPY

Arthritis

Alpha Omicron Pi’s international philanthropy is arthritis, and our philanthropy partner is the Arthritis Foundation. Since 1967, members and chapters have raised millions of dollars to fund research, provide resources, and support those affected by arthritis, a disease that disproportionately impacts women and also affects children.

AOII’s philanthropy dollars support several impactful Arthritis Foundation initiatives, including the Juvenile Arthritis Power Pack program, Juvenile Arthritis Camps, the Juvenile Arthritis Family Summit, and the 24/7 Helpline. Our Canadian sisters proudly support The Arthritis Society of Canada, furthering our shared mission to fight arthritis and improve lives.

OUR Local Efforts

We're proud to continue this legacy of service at Lambda Alpha! We collaborate with a variety of local organizations to make a positive impact throughout Los Angeles County and the San Gabriel Valley. You might have seen us at Dodger Stadium in May, where our sisters volunteered for a charity golf event, or on campus working with the American Red Cross, assisting with check-ins and encouraging blood donations to support life-saving efforts. In addition to our local philanthropic efforts, AOII hosts two signature events during the school year: King of Roses and Pie a Pi. King of Roses is our annual fall philanthropy competition, which spans over four days and features multiple activities aimed at raising funds for arthritis research and support.
